
Voting Rights: The Foundation of Democracy
The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin will host Voting Rights: The Foundation of Democracy at the Wisconsin State Capitol on August 6th, from 9 AM to 3 PM, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. Free and open to the public, this daylong event will feature a keynote address by Dianna Wynn, President of the League of Women Voters of the United States, at noon. Pillars of Democracy will be on view in the Capitol Rotunda throughout the duration of this historic gathering.

Pillars of Democracy is playing an integral role in this two-day conference, which brings together twenty-one local Leagues from across Wisconsin. Centered on the intersection of arts and civic activism, the event highlighted key policy initiatives pursued by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin alongside community-based art activation projects from the past year.

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s 90th Annual Luncheon
Pillars of Democracy is playing an integral role in this one-day fundraising event celebrating 90 years of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin providing healthcare across the state. Wisconsin Poet Laureate Dasha Kelly Hamilton will emcee the program, which promises an empowering reflection on the past, present, and future of reproductive care in the state.
